California Certified Legal Specialists
The California Bar "certifies" attorneys as specialists in the following areas of law:
o Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Lawyers
o Workers Compensation Lawyers
To be certified as a specialist in California, an attorney must be certified either by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, or by a State Bar accredited certification program. To become certified, a lawyer must pass a written examination, demonstrate a high level of experience in the specialty, complete ongoing education requirements and be favorably evaluated by other attorneys and judges familiar with their work. To view the certification requirements, see the California State Bar.
