There is one federal district court in Alaska.  On the state court side, the highest court is the Alaska Supreme Court.  Below that is the Alaska Court of Appeals, which hears appeals involving criminal matters.  There is a Superior Court in each of Alaska's four judicial districts.  These handle civil and criminal trials, as well as appeals from the various Alaska District Courts
